As 2008 ends and 2009 begins, SafeTech looks forward to continued growth and change in 2009.

SafeTech has expanded their operations to Ontario, Canada. Anita Kitkowski is heading-up the satellite office, in Fergus, just outside of Toronto. Services include WSIB compliant program development, safety audit services, and field staffing.

Several members of the SafeTech team will join Anita at the 2009 IAPI conference April 21,22, and 23 hosted at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Stop by the SafeTech exhibitor booth and meet some of the team.

Recent field placements and staff additions:

  • Dwight Dixon - 20 + years of progressive trade and construction experience. Dwight has held various safety positions including Safety Supervisor, Crew Leader, and Safety Team Leader.
  • Lorne Scheider -with 30 years of exemplary service with the City of Edmonton Fire Department, and holding a retiring rank as Captain, Lorne brings a tremendous amount of leadership and knowledge to the SafeTech team.
  • Mike LaForce -With 10 + years experience managing safety as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces, Mike's safety sight is always on.
  • Shannon Satterthwaite - joined the team part-time in 2008 to help with marketing and business development initiatives. 6+ years in Marketing, 3+ in safety industry.

Another handful of SafeTech staff have been trained in First Aid, while other members continue to pursue their OHS certificate and CRSP designations.
